Dear Twitter Friends:
You don’t know how much you help me. Last week, I had a hard time keeping up my milk supply. I had just moved and had been sick. Monday and Tuesday I barely pumped an ounce of milk each time I pumped at work. I was stressed and totally ready to give up on breastfeeding. I even had a post ready to post this past Monday saying that I had officially stopped pumping.
I never voiced my problem on twitter, but I follow a couple of breastfeeding moms. Everyday, I read tweets and blog posts about moms who pump and how they keep it up. Two moms in particular ALWAYS keep me motivated to continue pumping. Jen (who also wrote this post as a guest blogger for me) and Jenn (who blogs here) are both working moms who pump. They help me remember that I shouldn’t feel like a failure at any point during breastfeeding. I’m doing what I have to do and that helped remove the stress.
Today I’m still not pumping out as much as I should be BUT I don’t stress about it. We have a stash for Noah and he has been supplementing formula since birth just in case something happened and I can’t pump/breastfeed anymore.
My breastfeeding story is a success whether I decide to continue for a long time or I stop tomorrow. I’ve been breastfeeding for 6 months 3 weeks and 4 days.
Sincerely,
A thankful, still pumping Momma

So glad you have the support you need. I was unable to nurse or pump and always wish I had been able to. You have been very successful at nursing and should be proud of yourself.
Thanks for linking up!
So glad you have that support! What a blessing to be able to do that for your kiddo.
(We had medical reasons for needing to breastfeed – I know the feeling of trying something that isn't always smooth sailing! Good job sticking with it!)
Isn't Twitter great? At a week in, I too almost gave up and found my inspiration on Twitter. Way to stick with it and share your story. As someone having supply issues myself, it helped me to read your story. Thank you!
Thanks for this! I am a first time mother to a 9 week old. I went back to work last week so I am pumping as much as I can, but my supply has dropped! we went from giving her 4 ounces of formula a day to 12 now, I can pump 16-18 oz a day. I just tell myself I am doing the best I can, and any amount of breastmilk is better than all formula, but I have been ready to give up too.
I ordered a supplement that is supposed to help with production, I hope it works, and I hope I can continue pumping until she is a year!
Your welcome! Yes do the best you can and some is always better than none.
I try to drink 2 cups of Mother’s milk tea everyday and that seems to help some. Hang in there!
I’m glad that you have the support that you need! This has been so important to me over the past 11 months. Good luck and hang in there!
