Drinking Soda and being GREEN! (SodaStream review)

by Ashley T on July 5, 2011

Not everyone in my family likes to drink pop. My husband doesn’t really drink it and we never really allowed Hayden to drink it. Too sugary and too many other things added. Then I found the SodaStream.
The SodaStream uses your own water and CO2 to make carbonated water and different kinds of ‘pop’. The first time we used it, I tried my husband’s favorite type of pop. Like I said, he doesn’t really drink it but occasionally he likes to drink root beer floats. So I pulled out the root beer flavor and made a bottle. He was a little leary of it but loved it after trying it. He was ready to run out and buy some ice cream to make home floats! Hayden also enjoys it. He knows he’s not allowed to drink soda but since SodaStream sodas have way less calories and sugar, he gets to taste some every once in a while. You don’t even know how much he loves that.
Another thing that drives me towards making my own pop is that there aren’t any pesky bottles or cans to throw away. You re-use the bottle they send. You can also order more just in case your having a party or something and you wanted to make your own. And the carbonation container is refillable… some of my local stores refill it. It does take some time figuring out how much carbonation you like and whether or not you need more syrup for the flavor but it doesn’t take long to adjust.
Do you like soda-pop? Think about being more green and investing in a SodaStream.. you won’t be sad! The SodaStream machines start at $79.95. Check out the video below of Hayden and I making some soda!

I was provided a SodaStream for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.

This is so cool! Great little gadget. Pop is too sweet for me so I would enjoy being able to add less syrup.
Beautiful children by the way!!

I love the way Hayden kept looking a the camera. LOL!! I can’t believe how big he is! I really think the girls would LOVE being able to make our own soda. I might have to see if I can find of those somewhere. Think I can put it on Brinna’s birthday wish list? ;)

These look so cool! We don’t drink much soda, but I love all of the different options they have and that I could adjust how much syrup I use! Thanks for the great review!
