It is December and you are trying to come up with a gift for the last couple of people on your list. These people are also the same people that you have trouble coming up with ideas of what to get them anyway. Well, I have a simple quick and easy idea that might be perfect for some of the ladies on your list. You can definitely make a scented sugar scrub.
Ever used a sugar scrub? They can cost from $10-15 in a specialty store and have all kinds of ingredients that you can’t even pronounce. Well, here is a recipe that won’t break the bank and is all natural. I found an 8oz bottle of the almond oil at a natural store for $6.99 and found the containers at Meijer for $1.99 each. You can find essential oils at most stores.
Scented Sugar Scrub
What you’ll need:
- 1 cups of regular sugar
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Almond oil (or coconut oil)
- your favorite scent of an essential oil
- a small container with a lid (I used the size 5.41 oz)

In a mixing bowl, mix the sugar and almond oil. The amount of almond oil you need depends on the consistency you’d like the scrub. Mine ended up being closer to 1/3 cup.. and I added a little bit more when canning it. Use about 3-4 drops of the essential oil in the batch. Put into the container and label.
I found these labels as a free download on World Label that are a great size for the lid. Instead of buying sticky paper, I just printed them on cardstock and used double sided tape to stick them down. You can combine this with manicure and pedicure items to make it the perfect gift.

So simple and very creative! I think I just might give it a go for holiday gifts
Thanks, Ashley!

Can’t wait to make these! They sound great!
Great idea!
I can’t wait to try this. I pinned it. My skin is so dry. I’ll need something to help remove all the dry skin.

Does the scrub go bad? Does it have to be kept in the fridge?
I don’t keep mine in the fridge, just in a place where it isn’t to hot or moist. I would say to throw it away after a couple of months.
