Privacy policy

What this website collects when you visit, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It describes how the site actually works today.

In short

  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is read. It sets two cookies in your browser and sends Google information about your visit.
  • The site has no accounts, sign-ups, newsletter, comments or forms, and it runs no advertising.
  • We do not sell personal information about our readers.
  • The only information you give us directly is what you choose to send by email.
  • Questions or requests: info@andthelittleonestoo.com.

Who we are

This policy covers the website andthelittleonestoo.com. And The Little Ones Too is owned and published by ACTIQO, the business name of FindYourVine LLC. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means the publication and ACTIQO as its publisher. The publisher disclosure explains the relationship.

ACTIQO’s app and ACTIQO’s own website are covered by ACTIQO’s separate privacy policy, published on that site. Nothing in that policy about app accounts, child profiles, messaging or advertising applies to this publication, because this publication does none of those things.

Information collected when you visit

By our host. Like every website, this one receives standard information from your browser with each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser and device type, and the page that linked you here. The site is hosted by Vercel, which uses this information to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks; its automated protections block some requests that look like attacks. Vercel may keep records of requests for a limited period under its own practices, and some of those records can be visible to us in our hosting account. The site has no server or database of its own that stores visitor information.

By Google Analytics. When a page loads, Google Analytics records:

  • the page you view and its title, and the page that linked you here;
  • how you engage with the page, such as how long it is open, whether you scroll near its end, and which links to other websites you follow;
  • your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language;
  • an approximate location (such as city, region and country), which Google works out from your IP address;
  • a randomly generated identifier, stored in a cookie, that lets Google Analytics recognize the same browser on a later visit.

This information is not anonymous: it is tied to that identifier. We do not try to work out who individual readers are from it, and we do not combine it with anything else we hold, such as email.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to count visits and learn which pages are useful, so we can improve the publication. The Google tag (gtag.js) loads from Google on every page.

Google receives and processes the information described above under its own policies. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; it uses them to derive approximate location. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in its privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics only to measure how the site is used, not for advertising. Our Google tag loads no advertising or remarketing features, and the site’s security settings allow it to contact only Google’s analytics services, not its advertising services.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets these two:

CookieSet byPurposeHow long it lasts
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one browser from anotherTwo years by Google’s default; some browsers shorten this
_ga_S8BB92KW53Google AnalyticsKeeps track of the current visit (session)Two years by Google’s default; some browsers shorten this

Google describes these cookies on its page about Google Analytics cookie usage. The site does not use local storage or any other way of keeping information in your browser.

Your choices

  • Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every page works without them.
  • Google Analytics. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every site that uses it. Many browsers and content blockers can also block it.
  • No consent banner. The site does not currently show a cookie banner or ask for consent before Google Analytics loads. The analytics cookies are set when a page loads unless your browser blocks them.
  • Do Not Track. The site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals; Google Analytics loads whether or not your browser sends one.

Information you choose to give us

There is nothing to sign up for on this site: no accounts, newsletter, comments, forms or purchases. The only way to send us information is by emailing info@andthelittleonestoo.com, for example to report an error, suggest a source or ask a question.

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to act on your message, such as checking and correcting an error. Our email is hosted by IONOS, which processes messages to deliver and store them.

Advertising and selling information

The site carries no advertising, and no advertising or tracking services other than Google Analytics run on it. We do not sell personal information about our readers, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Children’s privacy

This publication writes about children’s activities, but it is written for parents, caregivers and other adults. It is not designed for children to use, and it has no accounts, forms or comments through which anyone could give us personal information.

We do not ask children for personal information and do not knowingly collect it from them. A visit by a child would be measured by Google Analytics in the same way as any other visit, as described above. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact info@andthelittleonestoo.com and we will delete it.

Other services involved

We do not control these companies’ own practices. Each publishes its own privacy information:

Our fonts and images are served from this website, not from third-party services. Our pieces link to sources published by others, and to ACTIQO’s website; those sites have their own privacy practices. When you follow a link from this site, it tells the other website only that you came from andthelittleonestoo.com, not which page you were reading.

How long information is kept

  • Analytics. Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for the period set by our Analytics account’s data-retention setting, under Google’s own practices. Google explains how this setting works, including that it does not apply to aggregated reports.
  • Email. We keep emails as long as we need them to reply and to deal with any follow-up. You can ask us to delete your messages.
  • Hosting records. Vercel keeps request records under its own practices.

Your privacy rights and requests

Depending on where you live, the law may give you rights over your personal information, such as the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. To make a request, or to ask any privacy question, email info@andthelittleonestoo.com. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you before acting on it.

In practice, the personal information we hold directly is the email people send us. Google Analytics data is tied to a random browser identifier rather than to your name or email, so we usually cannot find a particular person’s analytics data. You can remove it from your browser by deleting the cookies, and stop future collection with the options under “Your choices”.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and it never asks for passwords or payment details. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive, but no website or email service can guarantee complete security.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles information changes, for example if a new service is added, we will update this page and its “last updated” date before or when the change takes effect.
